Wed, 14 Apr 2010 04:57:00 -0700 IPv4 addresses run out by 2012, whats next IPv6 ?? http://blog.esupports.net/ipv4-addresses-run-out-by-2012-whats-next-ipv http://blog.esupports.net/ipv4-addresses-run-out-by-2012-whats-next-ipv

Network and Web site operators are coming under increasing pressure to support IPv6 -- the long-anticipated upgrade to the Internet's main communications protocol -- as more market indicators point to the rapid depletion of addresses for IPv4.

The Number Resource Organization (NRO announced on Tuesday that only 8% of IPv4 addresses remain unallocated. The NRO consists of the five Regional Internet Registries, which dole out blocks of IPv4 and IPv6 address space to carriers.

The NRO's latest figures are significant because the Internet infrastructure must be upgraded to support both IPv4 and IPv6. IPv4 uses 32-bit addresses and can support 4.3 billion devices connected directly to the Internet. IPv6, on the other hand, uses 128-bit addresses and supports a virtually unlimited number of devices.

When IPv4 addresses run out -- which is projected to occur in 2011 or 2012 -- carriers including Verizon and Comcast plan to provide their customers with IPv6 addresses.

Meanwhile, Web site operators such as Google and Netflix are adopting IPv6 so that users with IPv6 addresses can view their content.

Despite the efforts of these IPv6 pioneers, the NRO says the Internet industry is not prepared for IPv4 address space to run out.

Sat, 06 Mar 2010 09:43:16 -0800 Do you think Your Email Proofs are Legally Valid? http://blog.esupports.net/do-you-think-your-email-proofs-are-legally-va http://blog.esupports.net/do-you-think-your-email-proofs-are-legally-va

Esupports recommeds rpost.com as a registered mail service in electronic email system. As email has evolved into a serious business tool. It has come under intense scrutiny in today’s legal landscape, resulting in some regulatory safeguards for certain industries. New U.S. federal e-discovery rules went into effect on December 1, 2006, making it critical for companies and professionals to protect themselves and enhance accountability for their important outbound email. In addition, landmark cases such as Lorraine v Markel (May 2007) have brought the issue of admissibility of email evidence into light and prompted courts to define a set of stringent new standards for email evidence.

RPost’s Registered Email® service is an important safeguard against legal liability associated with e-discovery and email message disputes. Unlike the common ‘read receipt’, it protects you and your organization with legally verifiable proof that your email was delivered, with an official time stamp, and legally verifiable proof of the content sent and received, including attachments. The proof is in the form of a Registered Receipt™ email which contains a digital snapshot of the entire email transaction and can be self-authenticated at any time should an aspect of your original message be called into question.

Solution highlights:

» Includes a Registered Receipt™ email for each message which legally proves delivery, content and time and and can be self-authenticated in minutes.
» Includes option to send Registered Email messages marked with a banner or unmarked, and includes special option for government customers to send “For Official Use.”
» Has the ability to easily detect if a message has been tampered with.
» Protects the sender against the common recipient excuse of “I never got it” or “that is not what your email said.”
» Provides assurance that your important email records can withstand scrutiny in a court setting.
» Eliminates the need to send important communications by overnight courier, fax, and postal mail… saving the sender significant time and expense.

Tue, 02 Mar 2010 08:22:00 -0800 Parallels Summit 2010 - "Profit from the Cloud" - Excerpt from CEO Serguei Beloussov Keynotes http://blog.esupports.net/parallels-summit-2010-profit-from-the-cloud-e http://blog.esupports.net/parallels-summit-2010-profit-from-the-cloud-e

Much easy to guess, this edition is  mainly focussed on cloud computing, pretty much like everywhere else in the Industry. The much awaited Parallels summit 2010 was held on lovely Fontainebleau in Miami Beach on Feb 22-24.  Parallels CEO Serguei Beloussov outlined the company’s vision for the Cloud, from his keynotes, Parallels will be  more concentrating on small to medium business (SMB) which predicted will grow to nearly $19 billion by 2013.

“Considerable growth is predicted in Cloud services for small businesses as they provide a low cost, easy solution for these organizations, who need an increasing range of IT services, but have very little IT knowledge and limited budgets,” said Beloussov.

In his keynotes, Parallels admitting that VMware ESX is the best hypervisor on the market, but  “except for its price” comparing to Parallels virtualization tools. Secondarily, he indirectly admitted that Parallels competitor in virtualizing the hosting industry is not VMware, but vendors that offer Xen-based platforms. And this is because Amazon, with its Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) which is based on Xen, is leading by example.

He also announced Parallels hired Amir Sharif, former VMware ESX Product Manager,  as new Vice President of Virtualization.
Sharif will certainly provide impressive intelligence to Parallels about VMware and how his former company led and controlled the whole virtualization industry so far.

Fri, 26 Feb 2010 06:53:47 -0800 Google Puts Heavy Restriction on Online Pharmacy Ads http://blog.esupports.net/google-puts-heavy-restriction-on-online-pharm http://blog.esupports.net/google-puts-heavy-restriction-on-online-pharm

Google is taking a new, tougher stance on advertisements from online pharmacies. In particular, the site will now only show ads from U.S. and Canadian pharmacies in the countries in which they are accredited - in the U.S., that’s the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy VIPPS program, and in Canada, the Canadian International Pharmacy Association.

That sounds both logical and esoteric, but it has ramifications for ad revenue. Benjamin Schachter, an analyst with Broadpoint.Amtech, notes today that a test search of each of the top 10 best-selling subscription drugs on Google found that 68% of the ads on the first page of search results were from Canadian online pharmacies that would be disallowed under the new rules. For the top five drugs, 76% of the ads were for Canadian online pharmacies. (Try it; search for Lipitor, say, or Nexium, or Plavix. You’ll find that many of the resultant advertising links are for Canadian online drug peddlers, like CanadaDrugPharmacy.com and CanadaDrugCenter.com.)

Schachter adds that “reading between the lines, we believe that there was very likely regulatory pressure that influenced this change.”

Pharma and health care comprise about 4% of total online ad spending in 2009, he notes; the change isn’t promoting him to change estimates, but he does say that the development “will be a slight drag on revenue.”

Schachter, who has a Buy rating on the stock, says that “This type of issue highlights the key point that regulatory and legal concerns continue to our top risk factor for GOOG.”

Wed, 24 Feb 2010 01:38:44 -0800 Changing Domain IP Faster http://blog.esupports.net/changing-domain-ip-faster http://blog.esupports.net/changing-domain-ip-faster Here we are taking into consideration about most commonly used dns in linux servers, Bind9, in which a usual dns zone will look like,

$ttl 86400
domain.com. IN SOA ns1.domain.com. webmaster.domain.com. (
2009050102 ;Serial Number
86400 ;refresh
7200 ;retry
3600000 ;expire
86400 ;minimum )

In this, there are two different default DNS/BIND TTL settings you need to switch when moving domains to a different IP address. One is the negative caching setting in the SOA record, and the other is the default ttl at the top of the file ($ttl).

When moving a domain to a different IP, switch the TTLs to a lower number (10 minutes in the above example), change your serial number, reload your zones (restart DNS), and wait until your previous TTL has expired. The above zone file should look like,

$ttl 600
domain.com. IN SOA ns1.domain.com. webmaster.domain.com. (
2009050102 ;Serial Number
86400 ;refresh
7200 ;retry
3600000 ;expire
600 ;minimum )

Changing the TTL values of domain is recommended to done 24hrs prior to the change of ip in the nameservers, so all the cached nameservers meantime will lookup domain once in every 10 minute, so that once we change the IP, it will be picked up by all the cached nameservers maximum with in a couple of hours.

After you have finished your migration, make sure you set the TTLs higher again, or your server will have a higher load and cause unnecessary network traffic.

Tue, 23 Feb 2010 08:49:46 -0800 Google hacking traced to Chinese programmer http://blog.esupports.net/google-hacking-traced-to-chinese-programmer-1 http://blog.esupports.net/google-hacking-traced-to-chinese-programmer-1

A US investigation team digging further into a series of hacking attacks on Google has found the intruders took advantage of a program written by a Chinese freelance security consultant but said the programmer himself didn't launch the attacks.

The Chinese programmer, in his 30s, wrote the part of the codes that used a previously unknown security hole in the Windows Internet Explorer web browser to break into computers and insert spyware, the Financial Times reported Monday, citing US government officials.

But it said the programmer did not launch the attacks, which were allegedly aimed at stealing crucial information from Google Gmail accounts and other companies.

And in fact the programmer would prefer it not be used in such offensive efforts, according to the US team that discovered his role, the report added.

The Chinese government has denied any role in the sophisticated attacks and said it has always opposed hacking.

A Google spokesperson said the company has no comment on the latest development of the investigation.

In January, the giant Internet search engine provider threatened to abandon its Chinese-language search engine google.cn, and perhaps end all operations in the country, over complaints of censorship and sophisticated Internet attacks from within China.

The Wall Street Journal also reported Monday that US investigators have evidence pointing to an Asian hacking group, and also said that doesn't nec-essarily mean that investigators will be able to identify an individual in the attacks.

A cyber specialist familiar with the probes said the hackers resemble a group that cyber investigators have encountered before, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The group is thought to be smaller because, unlike some of its competitors, these hackers tend to infect fewer machines and attack more surgically, stealing specific data, rather than vacuuming up anything they find.

The group uses Chinese computer systems to mount its attacks and has a history of primarily attacking corporations, not the US military or other government agencies.

However, this group tends to take information periodically, rather than constantly, the source said.

Investigators probing the series of attacks had earlier traced the intrusions to computers at two Chinese educational institutes, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shandong Lanxiang Vocational School.

Both schools denied any knowledge of the attacks.

"It is too early to say that Shanghai Jiaotong University has any link with the attacks before the investigation authority releases any ultimate result," said a spokesperson for the school.

Meanwhile, following the New York Times' report, Lanxiang, which had to spend a lot of money on advertising, is becoming well-known and is now a hot keyword in online searches.

Wed, 20 Jan 2010 07:07:23 -0800 Stop Spamming in Cpanel Server How? http://blog.esupports.net/stop-spamming-in-cpanel-server-how http://blog.esupports.net/stop-spamming-in-cpanel-server-how I hate Spams Do You?

Cutting down spamming is a continual procedure, Few steps that can be used in single or in combination according to spams volume you are getting.

1.In cPanel, you can limit the number of e-mails sent out per-hour, however, this will only work if users are sending mail using your servers? smtp service, not if they are using some sort of script (which will most likely be the case when they are spamming). This would stop the majority of spammers.

2.disable nobody emails

Tweak Settings ?> Prevent the user ?nobody? from sending out mail to remote addresses

3.For monitoring the nobody emails.

http://www.webhostgear.com/232.html

4.Using exim.antivirus
http://www.webhostgear.com/338.html
http://www.webhostgear.com/232.html

5.Extended Loggins to see the spam source.

1. Edit /etc/exim.conf

2. On the second line add :

log_selector = +address_rewrite +all_parents +arguments +connection_reject +delay_delivery +delivery_size +dnslist_defer +incoming_interface +incoming_port +lost_incoming_connection +queue_run +received_sender +received_recipients +retry_defer +sender_on_delivery +size_reject +skip_delivery +smtp_confirmation +smtp_connection +smtp_protocol_error +smtp_syntax_error +subject +tls_cipher +tls_peerdn \

Make sure all that comes on a single line.

3. Save and exit.

4. Restart Exim.

A keep a watch on /var/log/exim_mainlog as you should be able to trace path to directory from which the spammer(s) is / are spamming.
5. But for extreme spamming, you can implement rbls as given in the url below.
